Rear calipers work hard and live in a dirty environment; over time seals and wear items let the pedal go soft and pistons start to stick. A rebuild with the correct kit restores braking feel for a fraction of the cost of a new caliper. Plan it as an off-season job, or whenever the brake fluid comes out discoloured.
