Side pods do real protective work in cadet racing, taking the side-by-side contact that class is famous for. A ground-through or cracked pod should be replaced rather than patched — the genuine Rookie pod fits the 950mm chassis mounting bars correctly and keeps the kart legal for scrutineering. Sold as a single pod, so you can replace one side at a time.
