Seat padding fine-tunes a seat you already own. The pads sit between you and the shell to take up space at the ribs, shoulders and hips so you stop moving under load, and they soften the hits on a rough track. Add the thinnest layer that stops the slop — too much padding and you lose feel through the chassis.
