Seletra ignition coil in black. The coil is the heart of a kart's ignition system, and when one starts to break down the symptoms — misfires under load, hard starting, a motor that cuts out when hot — are easy to blame on carburation.
Many racers carry a known-good spare coil for exactly that reason: swapping it over is the quickest way to rule ignition in or out at the track.
